This course was by far the hardest one for me in the program so far. This course went over a series of different topics when it comes to web development. We learned how to use HTML, CSS, JAVA, APIs, and many more! Though it is nice to have these added to my tool kit… I’m not certain I plan to use them in my professional world simply because I feel I’m not the best at them. I found several of these exercises incredibly difficult and I feel like a lot of my websites that I created appear to be more like some thing that would’ve been created in circa 2004. I think that web design is an incredibly difficult skill to learn and I feel like six months is just not enough time to really be able to hone in on my skill set, but I gave it my best try! I found myself feeling a bit swamped as I was always searching the web for detailed tutorials on each topic. If I wanted to learn more about this specific topic, I would definitely continue to turn to Youtube, as I found several helpful creators on there. In hindsight, I would have loved to take this class in person because I feel I would have done better with some hands on learning. I am however, incredibly thankful for Professor Aldridge. He was always available to hop on a zoom call with me and answer any questions I had.

You can find my website full of the content we created in this course below.

For my final project I chose to combine my knowledge of css styling, html, and java to create a gallery of photos I have taken. I have a budding photography business and I thought this could be a great tool to send to clients to showcase my work.

The skills I learned in this course will be utilized on the capstone journey when creating our accompanying website for our app. The website was actually created through a bootstrap template. Though another Cync team member worked primarily on our site, I was able to help with many of the graphic design elements for the site! I think it is turning out beautifully and if you are curious to see more please refer to the Capstone tab.
